Knitting Journal  Page 2 - the stuff that was picked to go to the fair.

A sport weight baby blanket.  I do love how these turn out!  They are soft and squishy, and actually very warm.  The pattern is from Gathering of Lace by Meg Swanson p 23.
Center detail of the above blanket.
Also from a Gathering of Lace p 56.  Only, I ran out of yarn before the pattern was finished.  I don't think it's obvious, but I'd like to make it much bigger eventually.  It's hard to see in this lighting, but it's a white yarn with pink and blue bits.
Center details of above - isn't it gorgeous!!
This is the sweater that distracted me when I needed it.  It's inspired by Heather Madrone's design at www.madrone.com.  I'm happy with mine, but I do want to block the lace sleeve edges into a bigger princess-style bell.  The bottom edge is just a short row seed stitch, but it could be longer on the sides.
Niki showing off how well the sleeves do bell out, and how the bottom lays so nicely.
Another lace blanket.  Believe it or not, this is a freebie pattern given away at Walmart.   It's a feather and fan lace with a "fun fur" every other repeat.  It's the cat's favorite blanket!
Detail of the feather and fan repeat.  I do like how the 2 rows of fuzzy stuff seems like it's not just a lace blanket.
This is the famous world map - finally all sewn together.  The blue is actually one color, I'm not sure why it pixelates so badly.  It was designed by Vogue magazine and sent out for free a couple of years ago.  Now, they are charging $1.50.  There are tassels that will be attached to each point (16 of them) with beads.
The pottery beads at bottom will attach the tassels (equal numbers brown and blues).  I'm not sure which turtle will center the compass rose, so they're all there (leaning toward the jade) and it will be outlined in black or dark blue.  I'm not sure how the animals will go - perhaps to mark our town, and/or the top of each point?  They also seem to want to be on a wool shawl - those stone bears are just so warm and snuggly looking!!
